Mineral oil
It is a colorless & non-scented oil extracted from petroleum and is used widely in cosmetic products for the skin. It has some soothing effect on the skin making it to be widely used in manufacture of creams, lotions and moisturizers.
BENIFITS :
Mineral oil is also working as an occlusive emollient it forms a protective film over the skin surface thus locks moisture onto the skin. In terms of function it also has emollient properties as it brings about the desirable effect of moisturizing the skin in order to enhance skin texture. Serving as a base oil with some working ingredients, the mineral oil makes them disperse neatly on the skin’s surface and infiltrate the epidermis easily. As such, it is usually classified as non-acnegenic or non-comedogenic, suggesting that the product will not clog pores, thus, can be used by almost anyone.
SKIN TYPES :
Mineral oil may be used for all skin types but is most beneficial to dry, dehydrated skin. But in many cases, this might cause the skin to become oily and therefore, users with oily skin should use it carefully as it can be heavy or even problematic for some users.
