Sorbitan caprylate

Sorbitan caprylate is an ester of fatty acids from polyalcohol sorbitol and caprylic acid (octanoic acid). An example of this type of additive is Polyethylene glycol, which the food and drug administration approved PEG 400 has been used in cosmetic and skincare formulations as an emulsifying agent, a surfactant, and skin conditioner.
