Xylitol
It is a naturally occurring substance belonging to the group known as sugar alcohols and is particularly commonly used in oral care products due to its sweetening properties which occur naturally in fruits and vegetables such as plums, oats, raspberries and lettuces. In skincare xylitol has a moisturizing and hydrating effect hence can be used in many products that are developed for this function.

Xylitol is friendly to the skin as it helps the skin to retain moisture thus making the skin smooth.
