Olive oil is a natural oil obtained from the fruit of the olive tree and is used both in preparation of foods and in the production of cosmetics because of its many health benefits and multipurpose uses of as an emollient /moisturizer. Filled with anti aging properties and healthy fats, olive oil is now an essential component of skin care and beautifying agents.

It specifically acts as emollient which helps in penetrating deep into the skin to provide moisture and help in avoiding loss of skin moisture. In actual implementation it is used as a base oil in many of the formulations because it helps in the penetration of the other working ingredients. The source of Vitamin E and polyphenols, it shields the skin from the free radicals leading to a youthful appearance. Moreover, since it has relatively high-water-solubility, it relieves inflammation on the skin. In hair care, olive oil is known to condition the hair making it soft, shiny and reducing on the frizzy hair.
SKIN TYPES :
Olive oil is especially recommanded for dry skin and skin under forty. But those with oily or acne prone skin have to be careful while using it because it’s comedogenic or can clog pores in some people.
